Design
Creative Direction by Stephen Powers
Espo's Art World, the retail shop of renowned artist Stephen Powers (aka Espo), is a creative hub located in Brooklyn, NY. I had the privilege of working closely with Stephen for several years, contributing to a wide range of projects that spanned starting a screen print shop to assisting with murals and artworks. The time spent there was deeply meaningful, offering an unparalleled opportunity to collaborate and create within a space that celebrated art in its many forms. This is a curated selection of the projects I was fortunate to contribute to during my time at Espo's Art World.
Apparel
Many shirts were designed as part of the retail practice of the shop. Some were based on Stephen’s original artwork, while others were based on his original ideas. My role was to transform the concept into a graphic ready for printing on a tee. Collaborating with Stephen on these projects was a great pleasure, and I thoroughly enjoyed witnessing his innovative approach to challenging conventional graphic tee standards.
Animations
We produced several animations of Stephen’s work, breathing new life into them. Our animations ranged from being featured in Vogue articles to purely artistic endeavors, being projected on a building in Tokyo.
